Approximately 53 days ago, my husband threw our entire family in the car and headed to Missouri. (It just seemed like the time, you know how that is. [Please note my excessive eye-rolling]) Another "impromptu vacation". We saw a few sites, checked out a school in St. Louis, and decided to move there (so my husband can attend school) 48 days ago.
We put our house up for sale and I stopped sewing (in that order) and packed things up. I'll have you know, I had less than 7 full boxes of fabric. Because 7 boxes of fabric clearly implies you have a problem with hoarding.

Twenty-six days ago, we put our house up for rent, because we don't have the time to wait for it to sale, packed up the biggest rental truck we could get our hands on and started driving three days later. With walkie talkies--because, you see, I took 3 children 5 and under by myself in our only car. Following my husband who got to drive "the big yellow banana" all by himself across the longest, boringest part of the country as I had a DVD player that didn't work for the first 24 hours.
We moved in to a house approximately twenty days ago, and have been unpacking and dinging up the walls ever since.
Things to know about Missouri:
People are friendly. I'm not quite used to the "midwest hospitality" yet.
Crickets are EVERYWHERE, including my house/basement/front door area/backdoor area. (Also, I may have a touch of orthopterophobia, the abnormal fear of crickets, which was undiscovered until this time)
Deer stop in the middle of the city park so my children can pretend to be stormtroopers and shoot them.
My son broke a tree off at the base of the trunk in front of Grant's historical site. Apologies to all those who come after.
|Disclaimer*** This tree was completely dead***|
